The plot, basically, is the story of Amory Blaine from his childhood to early adulthood. Blaine is an egotistic, yet insecure, character. He goes to Princeton and then goes to war. Throughout the novel he finds many lovers who bring out different characteristics of him. He becomes disillusioned and discouraged by the end of the novel. Its actually pretty hard to explain, but you should read it. Its a pretty good book.
