What is the outcome of The Hunger Games?

The answer for the actual book Hunger Games is Katniss and Peeta start to eat the knightlock and the Capitol lets them both win. However for the series conclusion Katniss defeats the Capitol and frees the Districts from it's wrath.

(Spoiler Alert) Peeta and Katniss both win The Hunger Games, but Peeta finds out Katniss was faking their relationship. Also, they think the Capitol is mad at them for the stunt they pulled by threatening to both commit suicide, making nobody win.
