The I am Legend scene was the most expensive movie scene shot in New York City. the most expensive movie scene is the helicopter ride in "Swordfish" (2001)

A bus was attached to a helicopter and was flown around downtown Los Angeles. They closed over 20 streets and shut down all the rooftops in the area. This scene cost $13 million dollars to make.

"I am Legend":

Yahoo! has an interesting look at that one sequence, which takes place on New York City's Brooklyn Bridge during a large-scale evacuation to escape the spreading vampire-zombie plague.

The filmmakers chose to film this scene on location over the course of six nights in January, costing a minimum of $5 million, the cooperation of 14 government agencies, a crew of 250, and a cast of 1,000 extras. The National Guard, the Coast Guard, and the Department of Defense all contributed men and or equipment to the scene, while a massive lighting system was rigged up along the bridge and the waterfront to illuminate the nighttime set.

Owing to estimated production costs I would guess Cleopatra, Titanic, some Science Fiction films. Solomon and Sheba almost rivaled the clowns in Washington with Cost Over-runs, and was sometimes called, (The Jewish Cleopatra) Unlike Cleo- all turns out awright for the two lead characters- and following an assasination attempt- Sheba is miraculously revived- now if only we had a PG-l3 plus ET with Gina Lollobrigida as the Girl from Planet X- the revival bit was similar! OR SUPER HERO MOVIE
