That depends on a lot of factors like the experience and education of the teacher and the financial status of your clientele. I studied music in college and have been teaching professionally for 10 years. I have 23 students currently and I travel to my students' homes which they find very convenient. I charge $90/month for one 30-minute lesson per week. So, that's about $45/hour! That's awesome but realize that most of your students will be kids and there is only a few hours in the afternoon when they are available for lessons. Building clientele can be a slow process so teaching piano takes a real love of teaching and a stick-to-it mentality. I strongly recommend getting some formal training in teaching piano. You will be better and earn more with a credential. The Wyndham Academy of Music has a great short-term program that offers a Diploma in Piano Education. If you are one of the greatest pianists, then you can earn about $100,000 for every performance.
