To me, it's about losing yourself in a relationship (I could feel myself under your fate) and learning to let go of that person (two strangers turning into dust) to move on (Or could have something more to gain).

i myself feel that answer but i have a different idea, my Grandfather just died and my dad and me had heard the songs Into Dust and Fade Into You and we felt that even though they are "love songs" we felt more than that with these songs i felt as if her lyrics in fade into you were telling a dying ones perspective and gods perspective for example: Gods perspective " i want to take the breath that's true" meaning that my grandfather the dying one was a good man and that it was his time and god was choosing him that's what i feel when i hear it. same with a lot of the other parts of the song it bounces back and forth between god and a dying ones perspective just apply that next time you hear those 2 songs. and as for into dust she takes of two figures disappearing well put it in the dying persons perspective like maybe those disappearing figures are your love ones and your going away from them. this is my input on these songs and they to me just become even more powerful when you put them like that. well thanks for reading.
goodbye and take care RIP Grandpa - aka - Pepe (french pronouncing)

Fade into you by mazzy star
Mazzy Star's song Fade Into You was released April 12, 1994. It peaked at number three of Billboard's Modern Rock and was on their album So Tonight That I Might See.
This is a big stretch, but "mazlis" means lucky in Hungarian...perhaps shortened to the catchier diminutive "mazzy"...lucky star? Maybe someone in the band has Hungarian ancestry? Just a thought.
Star Song Communications was created in 1976.
the meaning of this song is that she is in love and when you'er in love you feel at one with that person you start to do things you wouldn't do with other people because of the fact that you are in love.
