The lead singer of Tenth Avenue North (Mike) was on a winter retreat one year. He decided that he wanted to talk to his future wife, so as the song says he walked for a mile or more. When they both came to their meeting place she said there was something she needed to tell him, but she was too afraid. He sat their for a while holding her and reassuring her that he would always love her, and that nothing would change how he felt about her. She finally told him, and he loved her even more because of it. :)
