The Black Stallion in the movie and book is portrayed as a Arabian but the horse that acttually plays it is a FresianxThoroughbred. A Arabians habitat is in the desert, it's body buold is made for it because they can go days without food or water and in the desert that is neccersery to live. A Freisians natural habitat is in a grassy place with tree's and bushes although it can be sandy or dirty as sometimes you see in movies. And finally a Thoroughbred was created by man out of plenty of other breeds so they can't really live anywhere but in captivity.
