I think that people think that J.K. Rowling is a really good writer. Also, I think that once they've acomplished reading all 700 pages of the book(s) I think they feel like they've acomplished a big task.

Throughout the seven books in the series, Harry Potter is constantly challenged to choose between doing what's right and what's easy. To his credit, he always chooses what's morally right. Even in the final battle when Voldemort utters the "killing curse" at him, Harry defends himself with "Expelliarmus". If anyone deserved to die, it certainly was Voldemort, yet Harry refused to say the words. This is what makes him a true hero and it's why I am grateful to Ms. Rowling for creating such a memorable character.
