Dwarfs are people with a genetic disorder which causes them to be short. Over 70% of dwarfism cases are caused by achondroplasia. In addition to short stature, this condition is often accompanied by proportionally shorter limbs, crowded teeth and lower muscle tone.

Midgets are simply people who happen to be exceptionally small, but are other wise proportional and normally formed.
