A band is a group of people that make music. Usually they have a singer, a drummer, and some Guitars and maybe a keyboardist if needed. Some examples of bands are : 30 Seconds to MarsTokio Hotel Within Temptation NSYNCBreaking Benjamin Evanescence On the other hand, an artist is one person, and they usually are singers. They have other people fill in the music that people in the band would usually do (drums, guitar, keyboard, special sound effects, violins and other intruments) Examples of these would be : Rihanna Leona Lewis Justin Timberlake Madonna So all in all, bands have more than one person, and have lots of intruments and different parts to them, and artists are usually singers and known for themself, not as a group.

You are absolutely wrong a Band is for boys and a group is for girls

--------------------------------------------

No, this is very wrong, A boy band is a group of male performers that generally sing and dance to large crowds, rather than play instruments.

In addition, The only reason they are called 'Boy Bands' + 'Girl Groups' is because of alliteration, you can have a boy group and a girl band, they aren't set classificaitons.

An actual band does not have to be called anything based on the gender of the members, it is simply a band- a group of musicians who create and perform music.

"Group" usually refers to any gathering of performers in music, while "band" more specifically refers to people who play musical instruments.
