Dorothy was maried to David S. Mason and later divorced. She kept her name and was Dorothy Mason-Nichols. She died in Oktober 2008 in California.

They were two Dutch men who came to America in 1679-1680 and travelled from present day New York south to Maryland looking for a good place to start a utopian community. They were Labadists (followers of Jean Labadie), a protestant sect. Dankaerts kept a fabulous journal of their travels. It was discovered in Long Island in the 1860's, translated into English and published. Now it's available in reprints. Alison Matsen in Delaware

Aureline Browder was a Black housewife in Montgomery, Alabama, and W.A. Gayle was the mayor of the city during the time of the Montgomery Bus Boycott. During the boycott, the NAACP tried to get the issue dealt with at the Federal Courts. Browder was chosen to sue the city of Montgomery for giving passengers unequal treatment. The complaint was upheld at the District Court, but an appeal kept the case open. The Supreme Court then heard the case and ruled that Montgomery's bus laws were unconstitutional, and ordered them to be removed.
