When Elizabeth is in her room texting Mark, Kelli tells Elizabeth about Mark's ex-girlfriend, Ashley Johnson. Kelli says that Ashley became "a total psycho" after dating Mark (presumably copying his father's abuse), and Elizabeth should try to find out why. When Elizabeth asks Mark about it, he becomes angry, accuses Kelli and Elizabeth of talking trash about him, and Elizabeth tells him that their relationship is over, because she has a feeling that he will hit her. He refuses to accept it, threatening to kill himself and wrapping his arms very tightly around her. He says he won't let go until she takes him back. She yells for her parents and he bolts out the window as her parents come in. When Mark sends her a threatening text message the next day, Elizabeth and her parents file a restraining order against Mark, and has to keep 50 feet (15 metres) away from her at all times, and is sent home early from school with his father without incident.

Minutes later, at a concert held by Kelli's boyfriend (Cody), Mark returns with a gun and shoots Elizabeth and Kelli in the heads, killing them both. And then he kills himself, by shooting himself in the head. Afterwards, Elizabeth's parents, LeAnne, Cody, and others attend Elizabeth and Kelli's funeral, crying and sobbing. Then it fades to black, with the words: "The moral is; a dysfunctional abusive home can screw up your life." And it ended with no credits.
