Prudence comes from a well-experianced life. It is the ability to transfer conscience into behavior, and it is through experience the conscience develops.

We all know those people that do not behave prudently. They may have a refined and aristocratic taste, but their stock portfolio is a disaster. They find themselves at the mall constantly, when they could otherwise be investigating new ventures.

The key is to know what is good (what can benefit your life materially) and choose that over short-term pleasure.
