Manga is the art work from Japanese culture. It is used in the English-speaking world as a generic term for all comic books and graphic novels that were originally published in Japan.

However, Manga is often considered an artistic and storytelling style that can also encompass non-Japanese works. The term AmeriManga is sometimes used to refer to comics created by American artists in a Manga style.

Manwha is the Chinese or Korean equivalent of that idea.

Manga originated in Japan as a graphic novel form of pornographic content for men, eventually it became so popular that they started creating more child and women appropriate manga. (of course some have not changed) Manga is the graphic novel form of an anime. Typically the manga comes out before the anime. Some animes don't have mangas at all. The traditional term for manga is mangaka. Of course it is typically Japanese but it widespread across the world starting in Asia and ascending across the world.

(mahn-gah) The Japanese term for comic book. In Japan, manga are targeted at all age groups and cover a wide range of genres. This is in contrast to Western comics which are typically based around superhero themes.

yeah.. what he/she said. its a Japanese comic book, usually read from right to left, but us using English comic books, we read from left to right. (even the cover is on backwards! ><") its really cool && funny. if you've heard of anime, its just the book version of that!

interesting question...pfff manga is a Japanese style of comic. Read from right to left and has great stories in it. Actually the meaning is all written at the top but I'd just like to say how AWESOME it is. Anyone can read manga cos there are different genres for specific age, as long as you know how to read, understand the jargons being used and the meaning of those comedic expressions you'll definitely and undoubtedly fall for it!!! Start browsing and try to read one........ and yeah mangas are more precise and elaborate than it's anime versions sometimes plus excellent artwork \(^o^)/ wohoooooo.. love it!
