Dragon Ball: A manga/anime by Akira Toriyama. It was the first chapter of Dragon Ball. Dragon Ball was originally a comic in the Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. Dragon Ball was a remake of another manga by Akira Toriyama called Dragon Boy (a manga based on an ancient tale called Journey to the West). Dragon Ballalso inherited some ideas from another one of Akira Toriyama's manga called The Adventures of Tongpoo. It talks about a young martial artist named Goku who journeys with his friends to find the 7 Dragon Balls in order to resurrect the Eternal Dragon, a legendary beast with the ability to grant wishes. Along the way, they meet many villains who also want the Dragon Balls but for bad reasons...
Dragon Ball Z: A manga/anime by Akira Toriyama. It was originally part of Dragon Ball but they decided to split the series into 2 parts, Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z. It talks about what happens 5 years after the tournament (mentioned in Dragon Ball), when Goku and his friends are all grown up. Goku he is one of the very few survivors of a race of invaders called the Saiyans.
Dragon Ball GT: An anime by Toei Doga. The final official chapter of Dragon Ball. It was the shortest official chapter of the series. It talks about Gokuaccidentally being shrunk into a kid again by the Eternal Dragon. Now Goku has to live his adventures again, but this time, he'll have new friends...and enemies.
Dragon Ball AF: Dragon Ball AF was originally an April Fool's prank in 1997 concerning a fourth installment in the Dragon Ball series. After fans started to realize the invalidity of the prank, a person named Toyble wrote a fan manga for Dragon Ball AF.
af stands for april fools it was made by fans to be tricked some brats thinks its real and its really fake but there is a dragonball af manga made by toyable or whatever its name in YouTube some youtubers made a fake videos to believe everyone as its real! but many dislikers said its fake or gay i am believe for example if someone said its real then they are noobs if someone said its fake then they having brains to think and feel don't believe them in the manga its said alernate future or after future its not made by akira it was made this trick by fans i think.... hope you understand.
It stands for "After the Future", not "April Fools", because it does exists, but as a manga series.

Is Dragon Ball z and Dragon Ball gt made by the same person?
yes, but it has some different sponsor plus the creator, Akira Toriyama, had made DBZ and wanted to end it but Ataria, a sponsor, made Toriyama do dragon ball gt, and that is why he made it short (64 episodes.) Also if you want to know Akira, Toriyama was going to make a dragon ball af or something but changed his mind because people kept asking him when dragon ball af or another title would come out and he got so angry he decided to end the dragon ball series with dragon ball gt and if you ever hear that dragon ball af is real and you can watch it its probably something that will give you a virus or a tracking cookie (especially zango, never believe in zango, it is not good and is annoying, yes you have to download it.) Dragon ball af is fan made but is pretty nice and exciting to watch such as seeing gohan super saiyan 4. !

Well, there is the order for the Dragon Ball series: 1 - Dragon Ball (starts with Goku as a child and finishs when Goku marrys) 2 - Dragon Ball Z (starts when Gohan, Goku's son born, and finishs when Z Fighters beat Majin Buu) 3 - Dragon Ball GT (starts when Goku is training with Uub and finishs when Goku finds 7 Black Star Dragon Balls and the dragon grants his wish) 4 - Dragon Ball AF (i don't know about it but Goku there goes ssj5) P.S. As for Dragon Ball Kai, that's like Dragon Ball Z but its redrawn.
