OK, here are the charges: Disney- and his successor have a strange habit of either ignoring ( no Christmas specials in either film or Tv during the lifetime of Mr. Disney) anything that even faintly smacks of religion. plot lines in cartoon fantasies and live action shows were altered to excise the remotest spiritual vibes. There were deliberate jibes and attacks on religion- in the film Mary Poppins- Mary and the children are outside a real, and landmark church ( they are having a walking tour of London)- suddenly , it starts to rain, instead of taking the kids into the church- and getting out of the weather, Mary pulls out some magic wand sort of thing and conjures up a Merry Go Round- and clear weather in some sort of vacant lot- and the kids follow along- this is not to be confused with a Church Carnival. That"s one example. There are downright sacrilegious plot elements in the Disney version of ( Little Mermaid) where some Christian doctrine- the Harrowing of Hell is in effect parodied by some ( Two seeds in the spirit in seashells) business with reincarnation during the battle between Ariel and Ursula. - also a Bishop is depicted as a dirty old man! There is something wacko about the Motherless child syndrome in too much of Disneyana. it is almost a party-line requirement. N"uff said.
