The books are rated for teen. The shows are for everyone but are recommeded to be for ages 10+.

Pg-13 actually. But that's mostly because it originated in Japan. In the Japanese version's their was alot of swaring... But it's still rated Pg-13 as far as I know.

There is an anime for every age group, in every cycle of life. It's kind of like asking 'what is fiction rated?' because anime is just as much a genre as fiction or fantasy.
