I would think he is producing, recording a lot at home, hanging with his old mates, goes into record stores, goes into music stores, looks at the possibilities of when he will do something on stage again, and listens to music. If it comes down to it, and he gets inspired by the right types, you'll see him again, on stage.
I don't know where he is. I mainly want to know if he still puts on shows anywhere.
I have only had the great fortune of going to two journey concerts since 2002 and
neither of them featured him. I know he hasn't been with the group since 1997 but
I would love to see him in person. He is so awesome.
No, this is another internet myth. As of early 2012, Steve Perry was preparing to go into the studio and record some new songs. Since then, Perry has also been seen attending sporting events and has been in contact with at least one member of Journey, so no, he has not died.

According To The Liner Notes Of The 1992 Box Set Journey- Time3, Journey Did Not Have An Official Lead Vocalist During The Band,s Early Days. Vocals Were Shared Between Greg Rolie & Neal Schon Until 1977, When The Band Hired Their First Official Lead Vocalist, Robert Fleishman, To Avoid Being Dropped By Columbia Records. Fleishman,s Time In Journey Was Brief, As Steve Perry Was Hired To Replace Him In 1977. Perry Was In Journey Until They Disbanded In 1986 Or 1987. The Band Reformed In 1996 To Record The Trial By Fire Cd, With Steve Perry On Vocals. After The Trial By Fire Cd Was Released, Perry Departed From Journey Or Was Fired. To Fill The Lead Vocalist Slot Vacated By Steve Perry, Journey Hired Steve Augeri, Who Was Featured On The 2001 Cd Arrival. Sometime After This Cd Was Issued, Steve Augeri Was Replaced By Jeff Scott Soto, Who Would Later Be Replaced By Journey,s Current Vocalist, Arnel Pineda, Who Bears An Uncanny Vocal Resemblance To Steve Perry. Therefore, Journey Has Had 5 Lead Vocalists.

Steve Perry did not form Journey. Journey was formed originally in 1973 as an instrumental studio band by founding members Neal Schon (guitarist) and Gregg Rolie (keyboards, Hammond organ), both of Santana. The band progressed from its Latin roots towards jazz fusion for a while, eventually evolving into a progressive rock band and adding in lyrics and singing. Gregg Rolie was the first vocalist for Journey, technically, and then singer Robert Fleischman joined for a brief time between 1975 and 1977. Steve Perry was officially made a member in 1978 after having tagged along, hanging around backstage, on a tour that Journey did with Emerson, Lake and Palmer and proving his vocal skills during practice sessions. Journey's manager, Herbie Herbert, first heard Steve Perry sing "If You Need Me, Call Me" on a demo tape which blew him away and lead him to invite Perry to come along on said tour in the first place.
He is currently the GM for the Tampa Bay Lightning.

One day if your journey is 30 miles. Ten days if your journey is 300 miles. Two days if your journey is 60 miles.
