Blondie's full name was never actually mentioned in the cartoon strip however if you go back to the 1920's you'll have to assume that her name was Elizabeth "Betty" Boopadoop. Yes that is her maiden name according to the cartoonist and she was the original Betty Boop, sort of. The 20's dance hall flapper went blond and was then called Blondie and married a wealthy industrialist son, Dagwood Bumstead. Another Betty Boop with black hair and a sexier attitude took over and had many years in Cartoons.
The story goes that Dagwood lost his inheritance because he married a lowly dance hall girl and had to go to work for Mr. J. C. Dithers.
Their kids Alexander (formerly Dumplin) and Cookie have been living at home for over 70 years! And so has Daisy who outlived her four puppies from earlier strips.

In the flesh by Blondie?
Although many believe that the band, Blondie, was named after the singer, who was a girl, the trueorigin is more surprising. The band actually named themselves after Hitler's dog!
