'Iggy', the nickname of James Osterburg (Iggy Pop) comes from when he was in high school and played drums in a band called The Iguanas. Iggy is also a fictional character from James Patterson's maximum ride series. Iggy also steemed from the name of a character in an old greek myth (whose name was Icarus) in which father and son in an attempt to escape their king made wings of wax that origanally worked until the son (Icarus) flew to close to the sun and his wings melted and he drowned in the ocean below them.
