What happened in the end in ashes to ashes?

well what happens is that gene hunt is apparently god and Jim keats is Satan and gene has been trying to get everyone who has died - who's previously a cop- to go to heaven depending on there previous life so alex has been dead all a long since she woke up in a coma in 1982 it is quite confusing but when you watch it you'll get it easily and it is amazing oh and also heaven is in the pub which was in life on mars and hell is in an elevator at Jim keats station it is really strange

also chris, ray and shaz have all been dead for a while that's why earlier on it shows how they were going to die (when keats shows them all on video) but no that's what happened before and they all end up in the station about to go in the elevator but then they stop and think and istead they go to the pub where previously sam didn't die (in 1970) he went to heaven in the pub.

It was very complicated so i would watch the last episode again once you have read this. In the end it turned out that they were all dead that Gene Hunt died as a young skinny training police officer, Ray hung himself, Shaz got knifed, Chris was shot and Alex was shot. They were in the afterlife and Jim Keats is satin (the devil) and Gene Hunt is completely the opposite and guides everyone to heaven which is the pub. Gene doesn't go to heaven or hell himself because he does good things but he has also done bad things.
