∙ 12y ago"The Silence of the Lambs" became the third motion picture to win the top five Academy Awards in a single year. It was named Best Picture of 1991 and also won Best Director (Jonathan Demme), Best Actor (Sir Anthony Hopkins), Best Actress (Jodie Foster) and Best Adapted Screenplay (Ted Tally). The two other films to win five major Oscars in a single year: "It Happened One Night" (1934) and "One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest" (1975).
