What ever happened to singer anita humes from the Essex group of 1962?

I was stationed at Camp Lejeune and lived in the barracks with Anita when she joined the Essex. Besides having an awesome voice, she was also a very nice, classy lady. Anita was discharged at Camp Lejeune, I think in 1963. later, she joined the Army and was in the Army entertainment group that toured various Army installations, much like the USO. I saw her and the group perform in Atlanta at the Southeastern Fair in 1964 or 1965, but know nothing of her activities after that.
Anita Humes passed away May 30, 2010.
