His father died in Azkaban for attacking the boys that hurt Araiana, and his mother was killed by Ariana in one of her rages. Ariana was a witch who was mentally disturbed after being attacked by several Muggle boys that were scared because she was doing magic, and never recovered. She was killed by trying to help when Dumbledore, his brother Alberforth, and Gellert Grindlewald are fighting and one shoots a curse too powerful for delicate Ariana to handle.
