That would depend on the country in which you saw the rating, since each country has its own system for film classification. Canada used to have a rating called 'Mature' which was equivalent to the USA's PG, suggesting that Parental Guidance is recommended but would not prohibit a child from seeing the movie unattended. (Most Canadian provinces have become more streamlined with the Motion Picture Association of America's (MPAA) rating system, but differences still exist.)

In Australia, 'M' means 'recommended for mature audiences'. Typically, films such as this will have content deemed only appropriate for those of a relatively mature and sound mindset. I.E. People under 15 years are allowed to watch it, but should be prepared for more complex and possibly stressful content.

It is obsolete term for Mature audiences. originally there were four ratings, G- general audiences, M- mature , R restricted no one under l7 unless accompanied by a guardian or parent, and X- adults only no questions asked! a famous M picture was Airport, one of the first so-rated. M is no longer used, we have PG ( parental guidance) and Pg-l3 Parental Guidance minimum suggested age l3) so the movie code has moved along with the times, unlike dinosaurs. NC-l7 has replaced X.

The rating M is only for Video Games. A M rating is like R or NC-17 If it was a movie rating. (NC-17 means No one under 17 permitted)

Can 6 year old kid watch M movie with parents?

"M" is not an MPAA rating. It's a parental advisory rating, so it's ultimately up to the parents whether to allow the child to watch such a movie or not. I personally would suggest "not".
