Ralph wants to get Piggy's specs back and Piggy wanted to kill Jack there and then.
Piggy and the twins come to Ralph with a feast of properly ripened fruit.
They raid the shelters to steal Piggy's glasses, in order to light a cooking fire. The removal of the means to light a signal fire from Ralph's democratic group by Jacks 'tribe' symbolises the extinguishing of the clear sighted goal of returning to the civilised world and the supremacy of savagery over law and order.
"In this chapter, Piggy's glasses are stolen by Jack . The Glasses are of great importance since it is only by them that fire can be created. At first , Ralph and Samneric think that Jack's raiding party came for the Conch but in reality , they came for the Glasses."
In Chapter 10, Piggy suggests that they let the fire go out at night and relight it every morning because he concludes that the smoke will not be visible at night. At this point, Ralph is frustrated that Jack has started his own tribe. Ralph is also discouraged that only he and Piggy seem intent on keeping the fire going. Upon hearing Piggy's suggestion, Ralph agrees to let the fire go out. However, Ralph thinks it would be ideal to have the fire going all the time. The fire also gives Ralph a sense of security, especially at night: Ralph stood up, feeling curiously defenseless with the darkness pressing in.

Jack's boys do not attack Ralph's boys at any point in the book. Roger and Maurice accompany Jack on a night time raid on the shelters but the purpose is not 'attack' anyone but simply to steal Piggy's glasses. Even when Ralph, Samneric & Piggy go to castle rock to demand the return of Piggy's glass although they are vastly outnumbered by Jack's tribe they are not attacked.

Ralph and Piggy decide to keep the fire burning as a signal for potential rescuers to spot them on the island. The fire is their best chance at being rescued, as it can attract passing ships or planes. They believe that maintaining the fire is crucial for their survival and eventual rescue.
Ralph defends Piggy from Jack when he refuses to help with the fire. Ralph argues that Piggy contributes by thinking and suggesting ideas, even if he is physically unable to help. Ralph recognizes Piggy's value to the group beyond just physical labor.
In "Lord of the Flies," Roger tells Jack where Ralph is hiding. Roger was a loyal follower of Jack and had been actively participating in hunting down Ralph along with the other boys.
Piggy and Ralph are the only two at the pool because the other boys have gone off to participate in a hunting expedition led by Jack. Piggy and Ralph choose to stay behind as Piggy is unable to swim and Ralph wants to work on the signal fire.
