They never "killed" Rock Music. MTV helped promote every genre of music. MTV still plays some rock music, just not as much as it use to because rock music now has so many more harsh words in it. Since there are more harsh words they dont want the young people to be exposed to the foul language at their age. They try to help keep the younger children from having to deal with those words till they are older or if they can never.
There are many shows currently airing on the MTV network. Some of their most popular shows include 'Jersey Shore', 'MTV Unplugged', 'Girl Code', 'Geordie Shore' and 'Friendzone'.
