Yami Yugi utilizes various cards in his Deck. He tends to stay near the Spellcaster-Type monsters and also has many Dark Magician support cards. He also uses cards that are often related to each other, but not related to other cards in the Deck, such as the Magnet Warrior, and the Knightseries.
During the first three arcs of the original anime, he uses the same Deck that his doppelganger, Yugi Muto has due to the fact that they occupy the same body. It is not until the "Waking the Dragons" arc of the anime, when Yugi's soul is taken by The Seal of Orichalcos, that the Decks Yami Yugi uses can truly be considered his own. He also separates from Yugi during the Ceremonial Battle, and uses a different Deck than Yugi.
