Having worked at Neville Reid and John Templer in 1966/7, I can tell you that Weaver to Wearer was a cheaper store catering for those that wanted to dress smart but couldn't afford, or didn't want to spend too much of their hard earned. As the location of the store and/or the economy dictated, the Weaver to Wearer store was replaced by Neville Reid. These stores were owned by the same group (GUS) and sold the same suits but at a higher price. Then after deciding the town was able to afford more for their clothes, Neville Reid was in turn replaced by John Templer. So the trio of stores was owned by GUS (Great Universal Stores), selling the same suits at low, higher and highest prices from Weaver to Wearer to Neville Reid to John Templer....... There were some suits exclusive to the higher priced outlets, but by and large you pay more if it's a Neville Reid store and more again if it's a John Templer store. Hope that helps.
