Totally there are seven horcruxes. Horcrux No:1 - Tom Riddle's Diary (that came in the Harry Potter & the chamber of secrets) Horcrux No:2 - Gaunt ring (which came into Voldemort's possession when he stole it from Marvolo Gaunt) Horcrux No:3 - Slytherin's Locket (original was replaced by a fake one by Regulus Black) Horcrux No:4 - Helga Hufflepuff's cup Horcrux No:5 - Rowena Ravenclaw's Diadem Horcrux No:6 - Part of voldemort's soul that was inside Harry Horcrux No:7 - Nagini (Voldemort's snake)
Voldemort gave his diary to Lucius Malfoy and told him to keep it safe. Malfoy didn't know what it was and decided to get rid of it, so he hid it inside Ginny Weasley's school books. Harry destroyed it but he didn't know what it was until Dumbledore told him in his sixth year. Voldemort used Kreacher to hid the locket and Kreacher told Regulus what Voldemort made him do. So Regulus figured out what Voldemort was trying to do, stole the locket and told Kreacher to destroy it. Harry and Dumbledore found the fake one and Harry, Ron and Hermione tracked down the real locket. Harry, Ron and Hermione found Hufflepuff's cup in Bellatrix Lestrange's Gringotts vault. Harry figured out that the Diadem was hidden inside Hogwarts. Nagini and Harry weren't ever lost but Dumbledore discovered they were Horcurxes. He also tracked down the ring.
Tom Riddle's diary- was in the possession of Lucius Malfoy, who was given it by Voldemort, and did not understand it's importance, so he gave it to Ginny Weasley in an attempt to ruin the Weasley family. Ginny was possessed, but Harry kills the diary in the Chamber of Secrets using a Basilisk fang.Marvolo Gaunt's ring- was in the Gaunt home in Little Hangledon, destroyed by Dumbledore using the Sward of Gryffindorthe locket- was originally in the cave Tom Riddle had visited as an orphan, but was taken by Regulus Black. It was in a cabinet in his house before being stolen by Mundungus Fletcher later. Harry, Hermione and Ron recover it from Dolores Umbridge eventually and destroy it with the sword of Gryffindorethe Hufflepuff cup- was in the Lestrange vault and destroyed with a Basilisk fangthe diadem- was in the room of Requirement and destroyed with FiendfireHarry Potter- killed by Lord Voldmort (came back to life)Nagini- killed by Neville Longbottom with the Gryffindor sword
Horcruxes are extremely difficult to destroy. They cannot be destroyed by conventional means such as smashing, breaking, or burning. In order to be destroyed, a Horcrux must suffer damage so severe that repair through magical means would be impossible. (Known specific means for accomplishing this are enumerated and detailed below.) Once a Horcrux is irreparably damaged, the fragment of soul within it is destroyed. A Horcrux can be magically undone only if the creator goes through a process of deep remorse for the murder committed to create the Horcrux. The pain of this remorse is so excruciating that the process itself may kill the creator.
At Hogwarts there are four houses named; Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw. Each house has it's own trait, colours, ghost and important artefact.Gryffindor was formed by Godric Gryffindor and holds the bravest students to pass through Hogwarts. The house colours are red and gold and the ghost is Nearly Headless Nick who prefers to be called his full name Sir Nicholas de Mimsy Porpington. Harry calls him Nick as do many students. Godric's Sword was the important artefact for this house and helped Harry kill the Basilisk and destroy horcurxes as well as helping Neville kill Nagni - another horcrux.Slytherin was formed by Salazar Slytherin and holds the cunning folk. Contrary to popular belief not all slytherin students were pure-blood. Voldemort himself was half-blood. The colours for slytherin are green and silver and the ghost is the Bloody Baron who is the only person in the school who can control peeves and loved the Grey Lady. Salazar's Locket was the important artefact of slytherin and was one of Voldemort's horcruxes.Hufflepuff was formed by Helga Hufflepuff and holds everyone else. The colours for hufflepuff are yellow/gold and black. The ghost is The Fat Friar. Helga's Cup was the important artefact for this house and was one of Voldemort's horcruxes.Ravenclaw was formed by Helena Ravenclaw and holds the smart people. The colours for this house were blue and bronze and the ghost is The Grey Lady daughter of Helena Ravenclaw who stole her diadem and was loved by the Bloody Baron.
