Trust is a theme in The Hunger Games, because Katniss is always questioning who is actually on her side throughout the entire series. For example, if you kiss the wrong person, you might end up stabbed or shot. If you have read the books, you should know that she only questions people's trust in the arena and when District 13 and The Capitol are at war.
she realizes she can trust him, and he was trying to help her, but i really think the reason Peeta went with the careers was because he didn't want to die, he knew no-one would attack him if he was with them so he joined them.
He was refering to how he said to Ceasar Flickerman in the interviews that he had a crush on Katniss forever. He said 'Haymitch told me you would take a lot of convincing' because Katniss didnt believe that he liked her, even though he did.
Technically, only one. Peeta tells Caesar that he killed Brutus in the 75th Hunger Games. This was his only direct kill. Many people say that he killed Foxface too, but he didn't. Foxface died because she stole some poisonous berries from Peeta. Peeta hadn't fed them to her, he didn't even know that she had taken them until she died from eating them. And in the 74th Hunger Games, Peeta just pretends that he killed the girl who lit the fire next to Katniss's tree. This was a lie to build the Careers' trust, so he could protect Katniss from them. The only reason the cannon didn't fire when Cato killed her, was because the Gamemakers were signalling that Katniss was treed next to them. Peeta went back to 'finish her off' but didn't do anything since she was already dead.
It means that when Peeta is being kind to Katniss, it's harder for her to hate him, and if she doesn't hate him, she can't kill him. She needs to kill him if she wants to win The Hunger Games.
because katniss drugs peeta so she can go get his medicine but she said she would stay
Peeta mellarks role in thg is that he is just the boy with the bread, he loves katniss and is a bakers son. in the end peeta puts all his trust in katniss which cause a lot of trouble in the future.... Nightlock
katniss immediately recognises Peeta when he picked from the reaping ball. When she was a little girl, Peeta had thrown her some bread he had burnt from his bakery, after he had seen her starving. katniss constantly feels like she owes Peeta, and can never fully warm to him. Peeta confesses on live television that he has loved katniss for as long as he can remember, and although katniss thinks it is just for the public, the reader suspects differently. Throughout the actual games, katniss and Peeta play the part of star crossed lovers, but surprise each other on a number of occasions. Peeta and katniss make different alliances and Katniss doubts she can trust him. It all comes down to when Peeta warns her of an approaching tribute, and he takes the full blow of the tributes sword. katniss and Peeta get separated, and when Katniss finally finds Peeta, he is already half dead. katniss decides to help Peeta, as she has grown emotionally attached to him, considering he is going through the same horrific ordeal as she is. They begin showing some affection, half for the cameras, half for their true feelings. Katniss always to show hostility to Peeta, even though he is the only person she feels happy with, knows she can trust, knows that he understands her, and loves her to bits. Throught the three books, Katniss is constantly choosing between her friend Gale and peeta, but when Gale's parachute bomb kills Prim, katniss chooses Peeta and Gale leaves to another district. In the epilogue of the last book, Peeta and katniss have children. I hope that answers your question!!! :)
Peeta stirs feelings of confusion, gratitude, and protectiveness in Katniss throughout the Hunger Games series. She struggles to understand his motives and intentions, but ultimately comes to trust and care for him deeply.
Foxface was the only character that katniss said she would not trust but all the others are obviously not trusted either. Thresh was half way trusted and peeta was not trusted in the beginning since he was with the careers. Later he was fully trusted by katniss and later loved by her too!

Prim, Gale, Cinna, Peeta, Effie, Haymitch (kind of)
Their trust, and ultimately a little more time for Katniss.
When Katniss says this, she means that a kind Peeta Mellark can disarm his enemies and gain their trust, making it harder for them to hate or harm him. An unkind Peeta would be easier for others to see as a threat and therefore defend against, but a kind one could manipulate people more effectively.
Katniss and Gale's relationship is, simply put, complicated. Gale has feelings for her, whereas Katniss doesn't really seem to return the favor. Katniss just like's Peeta more. She likes him, too. Just not as much as the baker's son.
The most important symbol in the book The Hunger Games is the mokingjay pin (symbolizes rebellion), bread (symbolizes rebellion when Peeta rebelled against his mother and gave Katniss the bread, and when Katniss rebelled against the Capitol by covering Rue's dead bidy with flowers and recieved bread as thanks). Bread also symbolizes motivation because it motivates Katniss to win the Games for Rue, and when she recieves some from Peeta's father, it motivates her to win as well, and not to trust Peeta
