i also found out something really really interesting when i read Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows. Harry's parents death dates were mentioned in the book, so i caculated that Harry started Hogwarts in the year of 1991 (his first year). therefore:
1st year = 1991
2nd year = 1992
3rd year = 1993
4th year = 1994
5th year = 1995
6th year = 1996
7th year = 1997
I don't understand that

Not in the Harry Potter books one through seven. The last book ends with his final year at Hogwarts in which he can't become Headmaster because he has learning to do. If the author made another book about what happened after Harry finished Hogwarts, it is possible he could take over the job as Headmaster.
