Harry is well rounded character and has a few bad habits. He tends to jump to conclusions, which is evident when he believes Hagrid set a monster loose in the castle and also in the way he suspects Snape in wanting to steal the Sorcerer's stone. He also tends to take on too much responsibility, rather than counting on other people. In many instances he probably should have gone to Dumbledore about things he knew or suspected. He also wanted to go after the horcruxes alone. Harry is not always the best student because he likes to goof off with Ron and because he's distracted with trying to figure out what Voldemort is up to.
