When Med and Dia were younger, their mother had a friend named Sarah. Sarah, her husband Ian, and there 5 year old daughter use to stay at megs place. One day Sarah took her daughter to the creek to play hide and seek, while Sarah was counting she heard a slash in the water and then couldn't find her daughter! By the time she found her it was to late... She was gone! Ian left Sarah because of it and Sarah got really depressed... She cut her wrist in order to make herself suffer the way her daughter did! She finally got so depressed she drove her car into the creek in an attempt of suicide, but was unsuccesful. She was in a coma for the longest, but shortly overcame it! Now she is very suicidle.

Dia went to Ian's house and started playing a song she had been working on (on piano). Ian thought it would be a cool song to record. It was titled "Yellow Butterfly". After recording the song, Dia and Ian dubbed their project "The Yellow Butterfly Project", alternatively known as Dia & Ian. To date, the side project has only produced the one song.[28] Dia sometimes starts shows with a solo keyboard rendition of "Yellow Butterfly"."
