According to my sources, Joan Jett did not record a song called "Hot Child in the City" with either "The Runaways" or "The Blackhearts". iTunes is advertising an album called "I Love Rock & Roll: Hits of the '70's, Vol. 3" which has a Joan Jett version of the song on it. "Hot Child in the City" was originally recorded by Nick Gilder in 1978 and was released on his "City Nights" album.

No, she did not. Nick Gilder wrote and sang it, it was his only hit. He did, however, write a couple of songs for Pat Benatar.
