So called brain-washing came to the front during the Korean War. Movie was set during the Korean war and had a US Army patrol captured, brain-washed and then freed to return to the US pre-programmed. One member of the patrol was pre-programmed to assisniate the prersident. Turns out the mother of the character programmed to assisinate the president is his Communitst controller. This character's father is cast as a McCarthy-like US Senator who was subservient to the the wife. Anyway character that was going to assisinate finally comes (somewhat) to his senses (Character was maybe named Raymond ?) and does not kill the president. This was the Col-War 1950's and Communists were belived to have infested our government. This is the climate to kep in mind. ------------------------------------------ Art imitating life ? The real Kennedy assisnation was deemed too close to the movie and the movie was pulled from circulation. Movie negative was lost for many years but found a few years back and the movie was briefly -re-relased. FIRST MOVIE KARATE FIGHT was in this move. Was between Frank Sinatra and one of the bad guys. One of the prop tables didn't break as planned and Sinatra BROKE his hand (for real) !! ------------------------------------------ TRULY interesting characters portrayed by fine actors and actresses. There was also a book by the same name. --------------------------------------- Keys to understanding. This was the era of McCarthy and a real fear of Communists holding high places within our government.
---------------------------- I know the above is dis-jointed but I'm posting from a long-ago movie and strictly from memory.
Best Regards, Tom Boothe
