The Beatles always made a point to set aside at least one song per album exclusively for Ringo Starr to sing. This was the choice for Sgt. Pepper; a reworking of an earlier Paul McCartney instrumental, "Badfinger Boogie". (The name was also re-used later, when Apple Records band The Iveys wanted to change their image. They turned into Badfinger.)

Written by John and Paul in John's house. It's chronicled in the Beatles authorized biography by Hunter Davies. It may have been the last time John and Paul wrote a song together nose-to-nose.
