well he is really alive today hes in prison..how i no this belive me or not but my uncle was in prison with him for 6 years... my uncle was their for 6 years but leather face is their for life...my uncle told me alot of amazing storys about being in the same prison as leather face if you would like to hear some just ask and i would be happy to tell you i think their really intersting but scary

UPDATE: Never was Jeffrey Dahmer an influence as he was only a little boy when the character of Leatherface was created. In the 1970's when Texas Chainsaw Massaacre was made Jeffrey Dahmer would have been barely born yet. So no influence at all.
He was almost totally influenced by Ed Gein. Who was never in his life in Texas. He lived his whole life in Plainsfield, Wisconson.
