I cannot say for certain but I suspect so, mainly due to one of his early songs he made about the subject. One of his first songs released in late 1930 was titled "Yaller", which was a derogatory term for light-tone black people. It is a sad song in which he talks about how he felt isolated, not being favored by either race, and falling into a narrow niche in-between.

Well, honey, Cab Calloway was not biracial - he was as Black as the night is dark. This jazz legend was a trailblazer in the music industry, known for his scat singing and energetic performances. So, no need to mix things up here, he was a proud Black man through and through.
