Yes it was based on the life of a real biker who lives in Los Angeles, he has a cameo role in the movie. When they are voting Kid's club on the set he is the one that ask kid what are they going to call themselves. Of course artistic liberties were taken in some areas but one thing for sure. He was the King of Cali for many years.
