No ali killed ali, to explain u have to first know that the ali that aria,Emily,Spencer, and hanna were friends with was really Courtney(Ali's identical twin tht was supposed to be in a mental institute for impersonating ali). When the real ali came home she killed her twin by burying her alive, suffocation......then she was sent back cause they still thought she was Courtney of course.

No, she didn't really die, it was Ali's twin sister Courtney. Ali and Courtney switched places because Courtney tricked her parents into believing that she was Ali. So Ali ends up murdering her sister for ruining her life. In the end she ends up accedentally killing her self, or at least they hope she did. The series ends with the uncertainty of whether shes lives or not. I hope i helped :)

Alison never died. She was buried alive by her mother after someone hit her on the head with a rock but her mother did not know that she was live. Mrs. Grunwald had a bad feeling and came and pulled her out (she saw a hand coming out of the dirt). Mrs. Grunwald then tried to take her to the hospital. She ran in to go get help but Ali disappeared. She was then walking the road and Mona saw her. Mona helped her hide and disappear. So Ali never actually died. (This is all according to the TV series not the book series. The show has not reached its end yet so I can't give you all the answers but there are tons of spoilers online)

The girls find out that Alison is alive and find out it's Courtney died and not Alison. Alison (I guess she did) tied up Melissa in a closet next to Ian's dead body and set the house on fire with the girls in the closet as well. Due to her being tied up Melissa died (the girls should have untied her) but any ways yeah that's how she died!(The girls do escape though!)
