Abbey Road was the last new album to be recorded, in the late summer of 1969; it was released that October. Let It Bewas a reworking of the abandoned Get Back project, from the beginning of that year, with overdubs supervised by Phil Spector (with the blessings of Lennon and Harrison, who had already worked with Spector on Lennon's "Instant Karma!"). It was released in May 1970.

There have been many repackages since, Love Songs, Rock and Roll Music, Love, Number Ones, etc. but not newly recorded albums. The most recent of these was Love in 2006.

The real last studio album was Abbey Road. In 1970, Let it Be was released from the failed "get back" sessions mixed by Phil Spector, not George Martin. Capital records in America released Hey Jude, a collection of singles from the past decade. But the last studio album they recorded was Abbey Road.
