The band was Aerosmith. The song was Pandora's Box and it was on their Get Your Wings Album. Joe Perry and Joey Kramer wrote the song. Pandora does come up in it. The band you are referring to doesn't credit anyone for writing the song that they do. Aerosmith also had an album named Pandora's Toys that was released in 1995.
