Before the Jonas brothers were formed, Nick was the singer of the family. He produced a gospel album. It didn't sell well, so the record label (Columbia Records) decided to take things in a new direction. Joe and Kevin had also demonstrated some singing talent, and so he put the three of them together as a group act. The original name of the band was to be, "Sons of Jonas" but they changed it to "Jonas Brothers." Their first album was entitled, "It's About Time". Unfortunatly, the record label was broken up when the CEO representing the Jonas Brothers left Columbia Records. They were left high and dry until Disney picked them up. Their second studio album was released with Hollywood Records, a division of Disney, and was self titled.
The Jonas Brothers have released 2 more albums with Hollywood Records since then, one of which has gone platinum.
They haven't really been involved in any "scandals", but they have been the main topic in many huge ... EVENTS, for lack of a better word.
* Nick dated Miley and then Miley had the photo fiasco.The Jonas Brothers were there to support her, but they weren't really involved.
* The Jonas Brothers wear purity rings that EVERYONE likes to talk about. * And Joe dated Taylor for a while. She started moving too fast for him, and he called her to talk about taking a break possibly, and she hung up on him. That became known as the 27 second breakup, which wasn't really what happened.
The last was probably the biggest "scandal" so to speak, but it wasn't really anything bad. Taylor hung up on him and then told the world that he broke up with her in 27 seconds on the phone.
Joe is dating Camilla Belle. Nick is back together with Miley Cyrus Kevin is engaged to Danielle Delesea.
