Malcolm in the Middle is a comedy that ran to 7 seasons, from 2000 to 2006. The family that features is often quoted as 'dimwitted', the father with crazed obsessions, the mother a control-freak, the second oldest brother a hopeless brainless bully....

Despite this, the situations are amusing and the characters do have their talents (the younger, perhaps neglected, brother called Dewey in particular). Malcolm is not 'dimwitted' but a genius, as stated in a very early episode indeed. Still, he has to deal with his family, which may be where the -in the middle part arises.

The show is about 30 minutes long (including commercials probably) and has an unusual feel (the unusualness apparently acclaimed),with engaging scene transitions and collages.

The show stars Bryan Cranston, Jane Kazcmarek, Frankie Muniz, Justin Berfield, Erik Per Sullivan and Christopher Kennedy Masterson.
