Is there a hook in The Hunger Games?

Within the first chapter of The Hunger Games the Reaping is mentioned; this is a hook because the reader, at this point, is not supposed to know what the Reaping is. The purpose of a hook is to make the reader continue reading. The mention of the Reaping keeps the reader reading for two reasons a) either the reader does not know what the Reaping is and wants to find out or b) the reader wants to know who will be selected in the Reaping, and, by extension, what will occur afterward.
