Currently Jean Auel owns the movie rights to her novel "The Valley of Horses". The rights were purchased by the Peters-Guber company, along with the rights to "The Clan of the Cave Bear". After her experience with the making of the movie version of Clan, Mrs. Auel successfully sued the Peters-Guber company and won back the rights to all of her novels, including "The Clan of the Cave Bear". So here is the good news! At some future date we can expect not only a movie version of "The Valley of Horses", but also a greatly improved remake of "The Clan of the Cave Bear". To learn more about the Peters-Guber company, read the book "Hit and Run: How John Peters and Peter Guber Took Sony For a Ride in Hollywood", by Nancy Griffin and Kim Masters.
