Well, that depends. If you are squeamish, and easily scared of blood or violence, this is certainly NOT the movie for you. But besides the fact that there is a couple blood soaked scenes, this movie is not that scary. If you ask me, the scariest part was when Jason was dreaming when he was a kid at Camp Crystal Lake. A bunch of mean campers pushed Jason into the water, and a girl in the movie entered Jason's dream and tried to save him. But then, Freddy come's out in the form of the devil, and pushes Jason down into the depths of Crystal Lake.
Breakerbomb: I'm a different guy, and I say NO! IT IS NOT SCARY. It's kinda nasty I'm not gonna lie but otherwise It's actually pretty stupid, Freddy was so messed up, he made gay people look straight. Jason just gets his butt kicked again and again and....you know what I'm not gonna ruin it for you.
He only wears it in New Nightmare for the last part of the movie, to depict the difference between the "real" Freddy and the "movie" Freddy.
It is projected as a horror/thriller movie. The new movie that came out in theaters is a remake of the old one made in the 1960's or the 1970's. I don't think it is scary if you think it is then you are a baby because my 10 year old cousin saw that movie with me and it is just a good scary movie.
Jackie Earle Haley is the actor of the new Freddy Krueger.
The Scary Movie franchise contains four released movies, with a fifth in progress. The first four movies tell a somewhat consistent story with recurring characters; the fifth, slated for release in 2013, is a reboot with a new story.
