Yes it was based on his life, but only part of it. The movie is actually not historically accurate. Yes, there was a Salieri but he did not know Mozart that well nor did he ever write The Requiem Mass Opera for him while Mozart was on his deathbed. There was no sinister plan of his to have Mozart write an Opera and suddenly die, then steal his work and perform it at his funeral. Works of fiction. But other than that, yes Mozart pretty much was the "shiznit"!

Yes it is. The movie was based on Wladyslaw Szpilman, who was a pianist, he was a Polish Jew who worked on polish radio, who did escape deportation to the labour camps and was hidden by a German officer. In fact the move adaptation was very accurate in its events about this man.

I think you have the wrong title- but the correct title is indeed in the Musical field. The film was called The Music Box. It deals with psychological struggles- not battlefield combat- of a young woman who is the daughter or granddaughter of an SS officer who may have been one of their rather inhumane (medical) types. The title has nothing to do with the movie, and I wonder why such a saccharine, sweet-music handle. The film was called the Music Box. It had a rather short run.. but got considerable critical attention and acclaim. Theme of Nazi anti-semitism was all too real.
