he's narutos dad alright but also when naruto fights pain the nine tails is unleashed and the 4th hokage reseals the seal when hes knocked out and sez im your father and it was me that gave you the name naruto.
and another time is when jiraya was in the ninja war and he was with the 4th hokage and narutos mum and then jiraya said some thing like "what will you call your baby" then the 4th said i will call him naruto

if you have sucscribed to shonen jump and just read the new issue, "behind enemy lines" naruto gets to be SIX tails then he crushes the first hogake's stone given to him by tsunade the fifth hokage he then turns EIGHT tails then he goes in his physce and was talking to the fox and he was about to rip the seal off and the forth hokage appears and naruto and him were talking (the fox kept in inturupting so they went into a different place) and they were talking and the fourth said he was narutos dad and a whole bunch of other things oh and naruto was versing pain, the guy who killed master jiriyia. so naruto turns sage mode and uses rasen- shuriken and it's about to hit him except it says to be continued (like in the next issue of shonen jump) oh and if your wondering about konoha it's gone, nothings there except narutos friends and a few shinobi. and that's number 438 so the highest you can get in the real manga is book 45 last chapter in that is 422. and in that kakashi and chogi is versing pain but I think they'll lose :( and for those who're wonding if naruto and hinata go out I don't really know but hinata confessed her love to naruto.
